Families in Winston Hills have a new space to play and enjoy the outdoors with City of Parramatta Council installing a new playground on Goodin Road.

The playground, named after former City of Parramatta Councillor and long-time Winston Hills resident Roger Gregory, was officially opened this week by Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer, and family members of the late Mr Gregory.

The $180,000 project was completed as part of the North Rocks Ward Councillor’s Priorities for 2020.

The new playground includes swings, play equipment with soft-fall surfacing, seating, and decorative sandstone sculptures.

“This new playground will make a big difference to the young families living in Winston Hills, who won’t have to travel far to access a playground with fantastic facilities,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer said.

“You can never have enough recreational space to encourage children to get active and socialise, which is why Council has made it a priority to deliver great projects such as this.

“Roger Gregory was a very active member of the Winston Hills community and naming this park after him will ensure his legacy continues for years to come.

“I encourage locals to come and enjoy the new playground for some outdoor fun.”
