Saturday, December 19, 2020, 10 – 11am Brisbane City Youth Ballet (BCYB) is bringing their exquisite Christmas holiday production The Nutcracker to Brisbane Powerhouse. This delicious theatrical feast will serve up helpings of magical fantasy all within a one-hour family-friendly presentation. The Nutcracker is the story of a young girl, Clara, who receives a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve and enters a dream world. Tchaikovsky’s glorious score and Max Hurley’s unforgettable sets and costumes combine with clever choreography to create a charming interpretation of the traditional Christmas favourite. The cast of 50 talented young dancers from throughout Queensland range in age from 9 to 16 and were selected from over 180 young hopefuls who auditioned earlier this year. Guest roles will be performed by some of Brisbane’s premier dancers.
