Green Point at the end of South Road is home to the Brighton War Memorial, a heritage listed Cenotaph. The site was completed in 1927 as a memorial to local residents who lost their lives during World War 1. In recent times it has taken on a broader meaning to commemorate the sacrifice and service by Australians in other wars, conflicts and peacekeeping campaigns.
