Hartley’s New Playground Opening

11 November, 2020

A small group gathered on Tuesday 10 November 2020 to celebrate the opening of the newly installed children’s playground at the Hartley Historic School site. The playground will give the community of Hartley a place to gather while keeping the young ones entertained.

These works were funded through Council’s Village Improvement Plan and with the assistance of Hytech Quarries.

Mayor of Lithgow City Council Ray Thompson said about the playground “It’s so great to see the community coming together, the land managers of the site are working hard to improve the facilities to make them more useful to the people in their community. We are encouraged by groups within the villages of our LGA who come to us with plans and ideas for improving their villages”.

The village improvement plans are part of Council’s commitment to support the development of needed community infrastructure in the rural villages. In consultation with communities, Council continues to make improvements to the outlying rural villages of Hartley, Tarana, Capertee, Cullen Bullen and Rydal.
