Revamping Live Music at the Jetty Theatre

Australia’s favourite rockabilly rebels – Christian Power & Lonesome Train – will hit the stage at the Jetty Memorial Theatre on 19 November as part of the ‘Great Southern Nights, Land of 1000 gigs’ push to kick start the live music industry.
“Christian Power & Lonesome Train are well known across the country and beyond for their good time appeal for fans of all ages. Their fantastic mix of originals and classics, all cooked up to an infectious, high energy, rockabilly beat will be a fantastic way to celebrate the return of live music to the city,” said Natalie Boyle, Jetty Memorial Theatre Coordinator.
The Wollongong trio will be supported by local legends The Mid North, famed for their melding of Old-time, Mountain Folk and Bluegrass.
“Our second Great Southern Nights show features Honey & Knives on 26 November,” added Natalie. “This five-piece folk band are characterised by vocal harmonies and song-writing full of heart, warmth and humour. Over the past six years they have featured at various folk festivals including Woodford, Mullum, Bello Winter, Dorrigo, Illawarra and Cygnet.
“Not only that – they are known for mixing raw truths with the ability to coordinate clothing for visually spectacular results.”
Support act, Saije, is an award-winning, contemporary folk duo whose soulful harmonies, dynamic guitar-lines and percussive breakdowns breathe life into heartfelt stories.
The Jetty Theatre is proud to be a part of the ‘Great Southern Nights’ initiative which is featuring 1,000 COVIDSafe gigs across Sydney and Regional NSW, throughout November 2020.
The Jetty Memorial Theatre is now operating at 50% capacity. All events are allocated seating to comply with COVID-19 contact tracing requirements. Online bookings are limited to a maximum of three.
