Water reservoirs in Earlville, Kanimbla and Yorkeys Knob will undergo refurbishment in order to safeguard supply and prolong the life of the assets.
Council’s Works Committee today awarded a $4.5 million contract to Pensar Structures Pty Ltd to undertake refurbishment works of reservoirs at Henley’s Hill (No. 5), Earlville, White’s Gap (No. 1) Kanimbla, and Janett Street, Yorkeys Knob.
The $3.2 million refurbishment of the Henley’s Hill reservoir is to be completed in June 2022, the $1.7 million works at White’s Gap are due to be completed in September 2021, and the $730,000 Janet Street refurbishment is to be finished by the end of June 2021.
Condition assessments of the three reservoirs revealed that refurbishment works, including a new roof, replacement of floor and wall seals, and the application of internal coating, was required.
This resolution is to be ratified at the next Ordinary Meeting of Council, to be held on 25 November 2020.
