Next year’s Chinese New Year celebrations will be delivered at the Pier Shopping Centre, rather than the traditional venue of Grafton Street.
The Pier will be used as the main hub for the February festival, with the use of vacant shops and the centre court area decorated, themed and used as performance space.
The event, which will celebrate the Year of the Ox, will include social distancing markers on the floor and designated viewing areas on the second floor to allow organisers to monitor attendee numbers.
An online program is also being developed as part of the celebrations.
