Baw Baw’s young people are invited to be creative, be inspired, be active, try new things and face-off with fellow gamers this Youth Week 2020.

Baw Baw Shire Council has partnered with the YMCA, Gippsport, Streetgames, Yoga-Life Warragul, Helen Timbury, Arts&Health Gippsland, and West Gippsland Libraries to deliver a jam-packed program of online and in-person events kicking off on Monday 16 November.

Baw Baw Street Games will host a series of free, fun and supervised games and activities for teenagers and young adults at the following locations:

Trafalgar - James Balfour Park, Tuesday 16 November, 3.15-4.15pm; Yarragon – Skatepark, Tuesday 16 November, 5-6pm; Drouin – Skatepark, Friday 20 November, 3.15-4.15pm; Warragul – Skatepark – Friday 20 November, 5-6pm.

Budding yogis can learn the ropes with a Basics Flow Yoga class while those keen to get the heart rate going can join a Cycle RPM class at the Y.

Learn the ancient art of Tai Chi at the Warragul Leisure Centre or get Zen with Yin Yoga & Meditation on Thursday.

Young female athletes will be inspired by AFLW players Sharni Layton and Aliesha Newman in a three-week personal coaching workshop covering leadership, community and health.

A range of creative pursuits are catered for with an online Lino-Cut Workshop (materials delivered, no experience required), character workshop for young animators and music production workshops with local DJ Lua Hartig.

Friday 20 November is the NBA 2K20 online tournament, with the winner to take home a $250 EB Games voucher, with a $100 voucher for the runner-up – all you need to enter is a PS4 and internet access.

Each event is free and open to any Baw Baw resident between the ages of 12 and 25. Bookings are required for most events – head to www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au/youthweek for details.
