Yass Valley Council is hosting two free workshops dedicated to providing information for senior road users.
The workshops aim to provide practical information on mobility scooters and to help road users over the age of 65 years maintain their independence by providing them with details on changes to licensing requirements for people aged 75 and over, as well as a road rules refresher.
Older road users have seen many changes to road conditions, vehicle technologies and road rules. These workshops provide information about current changes as well as addressing issues encountered by all road users.
“These annual workshops are a great opportunity to discuss all things related to road safety and provide an opportunity to engage with a range of relevant professionals, including health and driving professionals,” said Yass Valley Council Road Safety Officer, Meryl Hinge.”
“The workshops will cover current changes as well as addressing issues encountered by all older road users. The workshops also provide information and suggestions relating to how we participate in road use as we experience age related changes.”
This workshops are aimed at residents aged 65 years and over. Carers, as well as family and friends of older road users, will also benefit from attending.
