Connect to Nature Through Birdwatching
City of Brimbank 17 Nov 2020

Learn how easy it is to spend time with birds, get tips on identifying them and how to behave around them.

Get to know some of the birds that call the Kororoit Creek their home through many of the images captured by presenter, Ursula Dutkiewicz. She will also share how the wonders of local nature inspire her art.

Kororoit Creek is a waterway that runs through many western suburbs of Melbourne, including Kings Park, Deer Park, Cairnlea, Ardeer, Sunshine and West Sunshine.

Ursula Dutkiewicz is an avid bird watcher and loves to explore her local environment while capturing images used for inspiration in her art. New to the Brimbank area in March this year, her first impressions of the environment were one of heartbreak - as she could not see past the rubbish that littered the local creek. She joined Friends of Kororoit Creek to become involved in the local community and to help restore the surroundings. This provided her the opportunity to explore the local landscape and the fauna and flora in more detail. It took some time, but as she weeded and planted along the creek, she slowly started to meet the neighbours who visit and call the creek home - and discovered a myriad of wonders and connection.

This event is presented by Brimbank City Council.
