Author Talk by General Sir Peter Cosgrove

16 November, 2020

Lithgow Library Learning Centre will be participating in an online collaborative author talk presenting General Sir Peter Cosgrove to discuss his memoir, “You Shouldn’t Have Joined…”

General Sir Peter Cosgrove is one of Australia’s most significant public figures and this November he will discuss his extraordinarily full and eventful life with our community.

Cosgrove was there as two Prime Ministers were removed by their own party. He was there through disasters both natural and man-made, such as the destruction of MH17. He was there for world leaders, and for ordinary Australians. This book is the story of his life and experiences, written with intelligence, forthrightness, compassion, and a brilliant eye for a telling anecdote.

You Shouldn’t Have Joined… (an expression much used during his days as a solider) is the story of Cosgrove’s life. It is also the story of those who have shared it with him.

NSW Public libraries are pleased to present a series of online author events. This event is presented in conversation with Richard Glover, author of “Love, Clancy; Dog’s Letters Home”, and introduce by Christine Brennan.
