Council looks forward to welcoming the community back into its customer service centres in Romsey and Woodend from today.
The reopening of the centres follows the Victorian Government’s easing of COVID-19 restrictions and reopening of various other facilities in the shire.
Romsey’s customer service desk in Main Street will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 3pm from today. The Woodend customer service desk will reopen on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 24 November.
Some restrictions will still apply, including limits to the number of people inside buildings. Room bookings will not be available in this initial reopening phase and will be considered as restrictions continue to ease. Council and the Goldfields Library Corporation will work together to manage attendance and contact tracing processes at both sites.
Contactless payment will be encouraged, although cash will be accepted. Customers are advised that access to in-person support for planning, building and local laws matters will not be available, although customers can lodge requests and enquiries through the customer service team. Signage at reopened Council facilities will urge community members to comply with physical distancing directions and to practise good hand hygiene.
Council is working towards reopening service centres in Gisborne and Kyneton. In the interim, customers are encouraged to visit Romsey or Woodend or contact the customer service team on 5(03)5422 0333.
