Moruya’s Waterfront Hotel will be the venue where 18 to 24 year olds can meet to pitch ideas and brainstorm events and activities they would like to see in Eurobodalla.
From 5pm on Thursday 3 December, the Create With Your Mates workshop gives young adults a say in developing something local of interest for their age group. Eurobodalla Council’s community development coordinator Zoe Morgan said potential projects might be a main street tech hub, a surf camp, or something completely off the radar.
“We’ll split off into different tables for an hour or so to develop different projects,” Ms Morgan said.
“Specialist facilitators at each table will provide local experience, help teams avoid possible pitfalls and keep things on track.
“At the end of the session, we’ll gather together and vote for the best project. Council’s youth development team will work with the winning team to explore avenues for funding and ways to bring the project to life.”
Ms Morgan said Create With Your Mates wasn’t all hard graft though.
“Far from it. We’ll have a break for nibbles and mingling midway,” she said.
“Afterward DJs Beua and Brin will play a set to finish the night off.
“There’s also a $100 Region X gift voucher door prize for one lucky participant.”
The workshop is free and bookings essential; text Zoe Morgan on 0408 651 413 with your name and ‘create with my mates’.
