The City of Swan’s draft Strategic Community Plan (SCP) 2021 to 2031 is now available for public comment.
The SCP is the City’s highest-level planning document, and outlines the vision, outcomes and priorities for our community.
The draft plan has been reviewed through an extensive consultation, including a community survey, deliberative community panel and Council input.
It incorporates some significant changes, including greater focus on protecting the natural environment, improved measures for how we are meeting community expectations and a new objective to engage, communicate and consult with our community and stakeholders.
The plan also includes United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to demonstrate how the City can contribute to making a positive global impact.
City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said he strongly encourages residents to read through the draft Strategic Community Plan and provide feedback to ensure we are working towards a shared vision for the future.
“We understand that the City needs to work hand in hand with residents to develop our strategic approach,” he said.
“Your views help us to understand what our priorities should be so that we deliver more of what you want.”
The draft SCP is available for comment until December 18, 2020.
Once finalised, the SCP will guide the City’s work over the next 10 years.
