Isaac Regional Council is looking to invest in emerging undergraduate talent by providing a successful candidate with a unique and exceptional opportunity to develop their knowledge and skill set within the land use planning team.
Council’s annual student placement program provides an opportunity for a current university student in land use planning or related fields an opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in a progressive local government environment.
This opportunity is for a ten (10) week casual fixed term Student Planner to join our award-winning Liveability & Sustainability Department based in Clermont or St Lawrence. The role will provide support primarily to the Principal Social Planner, Planning and Systems Specialist and Manager Liveability & Sustainability, as well as having an opportunity to gain insight into the operations of Council’s development assessment, and environment and biodiversity programs.
The successful candidate will have:
Current enrolment in a university degree program in urban and regional planning or related field is essential, preferably having completed a minimum of three years full-time study will be highly regarded; Sound understanding of the role of local government in delivery of land use planning services; Sound understanding of the challenges for land use and social planning in the Isaac region; Demonstrated skills in the delivery of high-quality written and verbal communication; Demonstrated skills in supporting a positive team culture and collaborative working environment. For this position we offer:
