Council has adopted two strategic blueprints that capture the aspirations of the Barossa community over the next 20 years.
The Barossa Community Plan 2020-2040 provides a roadmap for investment, liveability and wellbeing in the Barossa and has been described as Mayor Bim Lange as “the community’s plan”.
It is underpinned by five key themes of:
Natural Environment and Built Heritage; Community and Culture; Infrastructure; Health and Wellbeing; and Business and Employment. For the first time, Council has also adopted a draft Advocacy Strategy 2020-2024 that recognises Council’s role and capacity, alongside stakeholders, to influence positive community-based outcomes.
“The Barossa Community Plan captures the aspirations of the community, and the strategies needed to achieve the community we all want to live in,” said Mayor Lange.
"We thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback during the consultation process to ensure the targets we have set are a reflection of community priorities."
Council adopted both plans at the November 2020 Council meeting.
