For eleven nights in December, Werribee Park will be transformed with a new immersive experience, BLINK.
Wyndham City’s BLINK is a free projection-based experience that will run from 10 to 20 December, 9pm until midnight.
See trees come to life, with large scale projections by local photographer David Mullins.
Projections will feature portraits of Wyndham locals from the Faces of Wyndham project by Mullins which celebrates the cultural diversity of the region.
Early sit-down dinner bookings and pre-booked picnic hampers will be available within the grounds at The Refectory Parlour, Joseph’s Restaurant & Bar and Shadowfax Wines and visitors can also bring along their own picnic, with the grounds open throughout the evening.
Destination Wyndham Portfolio Holder, Cr Heather Marcus encouraged residents to book ahead and enjoy the experience with friends and family.
“We’re excited to bring a free, new and unique experience to Wyndham for the whole community to enjoy.” Cr Marcus said.
“BLINK will provide an opportunity to come together this summer, while social distancing and utilising Wyndham’s great public open spaces.”
“It’s going to take some time before we can return to some of the big festivals that Wyndham is known for, but we can still find ways to gather safely.”
Creative City Portfolio Holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud highlighted the local talent that would be on display at the historic venue.
“We’re delighted to be working with local photographer, David Mullins and look forward to seeing his work being brought to life in the iconic Werribee Park.”
“As we’ve all missed out on attending events together this year as a community, we eagerly anticipate the return of activities like BLINK.”
“The event is an opportunity to take a break from time at home and enjoy the night out with a totally different experience.”
A range of health and safety measures will be in place, in line with the latest COVID-19 restrictions.
