Outdoor pool to reopen at Benalla Aquatic Centre

The outdoor pool at the Benalla Aquatic Centre will reopen on 5 December with the refurbishment now complete.
The refurbishment included grinding back the pool shell, replacing the rubber expansion joints, repainting, lane remarking and plumbing works.
From Saturday 5 December the Benalla Aquatic Centre will reopen to its full hours, including the outdoor pool.
The hours will be: Monday to Wednesday: 6am – 8pm Thursday to Friday: 6am – 7pm Saturday to Sunday: 9am – 6pm
Outdoor Pool – School term: Monday to Friday: 6am – 9am, 3.45pm - 7pm Saturday to Sunday: 12noon – 6pm
Outdoor Pool – School holidays (from 21 December 2020): Monday to Friday: 6am – 9am, 12noon - 7pm Saturday to Sunday: 12noon – 6pm
Swimming lessons and group fitness classes will have a gradual return, with sessions remaining at 45 minutes to allow COVID cleaning between each.
Mayor Cr Danny Claridge said refurbishing the outdoor pool has been important.
“We know how popular the outdoor pool is in Benalla and how many memories it holds for so many generations who have enjoyed it,” Cr Claridge said.
“We’re very happy that the refurbishment work is done and complete in time for summer and that the restrictions have lifted to the point where it can now be reopened.”
Until Saturday, the pool will continue to operate at its current hours being Monday to Friday from 6am – 12noon and 4pm – 7pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 4pm.
