The works of local artists from the Campbelltown Arts Centre’s Little Orange studio will adorn the exterior of amenities at Rizal Park, Rosemeadow and Redfern Park, Minto.
The Rizal Park artwork, Revalvis Orchestra, was designed by Richard J Bell and Blake Thomas and blends Mr Bell’s Polynesian themes with Mr Thomas’ love of animation and Japanese manga pop culture.
The Redfern park artwork, An Eye for an Eye, a Swirl for a Swirl, was created by Jess Fesic and Renee Allara and incorporates Miss Allara’s recurring motif of the eye with Miss Fesic’s zentangle patterns and psychedelic art.
“These artworks will enhance the aesthetic of our public domain and celebrate the talents and works of local artists with disability in our community,” Mayor George Brticevic said.
“These state-of-the-art new facilities also mean that people will not have to worry about finding a toilet while at Rizal or Redfern Park and they’ll be accessible to all,” Cr Brticevic said.
Little Orange is a working studio for artists who identify with disability which fosters artistic practice by providing members with materials, mentorships, business training and access to industry professionals.
