Ten local artists will show their work in a unique digital exhibition from Wyndham Art Gallery, curated by local and emerging creatives.
Presented by Wyndham City, OPEN HOUSE is a free digital art exhibition running from December 10 to January 17, 2021.
OPEN HOUSE is a celebration of the local arts scene, the perfect way to close our exhibition program for 2020.
The show reflects the growth of Wyndham’s art community, with work from ten local artists of different backgrounds and working with a variety of media, ranging from video to paper-mâché.
Gallery curators have also handed over the reins to local and emerging creatives Ayesha Dharmanbandu and Paul Zahra to bring this exhibition together and create a home for local art inside the virtual gallery walls.
Artists featured include Angela Hickey, Duain Kelaart, Stephanie Lenehan, Catherine Mackay, Dean Patchett, Crystal Peterlin, Stephanie Prole, Michelle Ripari, Jeff San Augustin (aka Vigilante Creative), and Moreen Wellington Lyons.
Wyndham City’s Mayor, Councillor Adele Hegedich said the show demonstrates the city’s quality art scene and encouraged residents to discover local artistic talent.
“OPEN HOUSE taps into the city’s rich creative community and highlights the immense talent of local creators.”
“Being able to deliver the exhibition online means Wyndham residents can discover quality art in a safe and accessible way.”
“The digital platform also enables local artists to present their work to a vast audience outside the walls of the gallery.”
Creative City Portfolio Holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud said the exhibition supported the professional growth of local creatives.
“OPEN HOUSE enables emerging curators to gain valuable experience in a gallery close to home,”
“The exhibition amplifies the profile of local artists and ensures Wyndham’s art scene remains on the map.”
