Upcoming Christmas closures

All you need to know about the council’s Christmas closures for the 2020 festive season.

Administration buildings and libraries

Council’s administration buildings and libraries will close from 12.00 pm on 24 December 2020 up to and including Friday 1 January 2021. They will reopen on Monday 4 January 2021.

Springsure Capricornian Bank

The Capricornian Bank located in the Springsure office will be closed for the same period.

Waste recovery

Roadside rubbish collection services will continue as normal. Emerald Transfer Station, Lochlees and Blackwater Landfills will be closed on Christmas Day. No alternate waste disposal will be provided.

Aquatic centres

Council recommends contacting local aquatic centres for opening days and hours over the festive season.

Other information In case of a major weather event, the place to go for road closure information is the Emergency Management Dashboard. Council’s social media pages will not be actively monitored during the Christmas break. Several representatives will be on-call for emergencies during the holidays, call 1300 242 686 to reach the after-hours service.
