Expressions of Interest (EoI) for temporary use of ‘parklet’

North Sydney Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from the community and local businesses proposing temporary locations/uses for Council’s ‘Parklet’ over summer and autumn.

The Parklet is a landscaped mobile ‘park’ with seating that temporarily expands public space from the footpath into road areas to encourage activity, economic vitality and vibrancy in local streets.

The parklet is particularly well suited to outdoor dining, although EOI proposals for other potential uses are also encouraged.

Council is currently seeking EOIs for six (6) week placements on the following dates (the first dates are all allocated):

9 December 2020 - 20 January 2021 (all allocated) 20 January 2021 - 3 February 2021 3 February 2021 - 17 March 2021 17 March 2021 - 28 April 2021

A successful EOI for an outdoor dining use would have exclusive use of the parklet during business hours.

Council will not be charging for use of the parklet as this is a trial phase, however, it is likely that a charge will be part of the long-term program.

If you have any questions or comments Council’s Sustainable Transport Project Coordinator, Lindsay Menday, 9936 8251 or [email protected] can assist.
