Southern Midlands Councils has a small team (approximately 50 FTE) of people who work with the General Manager in providing services to the Community of the Southern Midlands local government area. To provide the best value in performing the required roles and responsibilities for our Community, this team comprises the following mixture of labour engagement methods, full time employment, part time, permanent part time, casual, contract, along with resource sharing with other local authorities. Applications are invited for the position of Executive Assistant which is a key role in Southern Midlands Council. This is a full time position based at the Council’s Oatlands office, although reduced hours may be negotiated under a flexible working arrangement.

The successful applicant must be customer focussed, possess excellent interpersonal skills, be highly self-motivated and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in local government and/or at a senior Executive Assistant capacity would be desirable. Salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant based on skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
