With end of year celebrations looking a little different for many this year, Snowy Monaro Community Connections Groups will celebrate the upcoming holiday season with a final ‘surprising’ community project for the year.

To help spread some seasonal cheer the groups will be creating small gifts and leaving them in random locations across our region to be found by members of the community. Research has found that random acts of kindness can have a ripple effect, uplifting not only the giver and recipient but also anyone who witnesses or hears about it.

As 2020 comes to an end, Snowy Monaro Community Connections Groups have also been reflecting on the year that has been. While it has been a difficult time, with many of their usual events and outings cancelled, they have adjusted to new ways of doing things.

From staying in touch via teleconference, working on individual craft or gardening projects at home and working on community projects, such as their yarn bombing installations, they have embraced different ways to stay connected and brighten the day of others in our community.

With the continued easing of COVID-19 restrictions, Snowy Monaro Community Connections Groups have exciting plans for activities and outings in 2021.
