The City of Fremantle’s Carols by Candlelight at Fremantle Oval this Sunday is almost fully booked.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines Carols by Candlelight this year is a free, ticketed event and numbers have been capped at 5000 to ensure plenty of space to allow for physical distancing.
Carollers will also be required to sign in by using the SafeWA app to scan the QR code at the entrance.
Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said it would be wonderful for anyone who could no longer attend to cancel their ticket so someone else could come along.
“Carols by Candlelight in Freo is always such a special event and a great way to get together with friends and neighbours to share the Christmas spirit,” Mayor Pettitt said.
“Because of COVID-19 it’s essential this year that people go to the Eventbrite website and register for a free ticket, but they’ll have to be quick because there aren’t many left.
“If the event becomes fully booked people will be able use the website to put their name down on a waiting list for tickets.
“If people have tickets but can’t come along anymore it would be really nice for them to get back onto the website and cancel their tickets so people on the waiting list can access them.”
Fremantle’s Carols by Candlelight this year is introducing Odette Mercy & Her Soul Atomics, who will be taking over the main stage and leading a merry sing-along of everyone’s favourite Christmas carols and tunes.
Another new addition will be the popular Made on the Left Markets in the middle of Fremantle Oval, featuring stunning and unique handmade items.
Gates open at 4pm on Sunday 13 December, with children’s activities, entertainment, Santa pop-up booth and a variety of food options.
On stage entertainment will be from 5:45–8pm. Download the event program and carol lyrics here.
