Local MP to launch the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program State Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas will be visiting Kyneton Library to launch the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program this Friday, 4 December at 11.30am.
Council received a grant through the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program to upgrade Kyneton Library. Upgrades include a remodelled entrance, roof works and replacement of the heating and cooling system. Interim Executive Manager People, Culture and Performance, Sarah Noel said that the changes made will make the library an even more attractive location.
“Libraries are such important social and information sharing anchors in our community,” said Ms Noel. “The upgrade makes the entrance accessible and attractive, as well as enhancing the links to the outdoor playground. Libraries are often a cooling off point in the warmer months for vulnerable citizens, and the improved heating and cooling supports the comfort of staff and residents.”
Acting CEO John Nevins will MC the event, which will also be attended by Cr Bill West and Goldfields Library Corporation CEO, Mr Mark Hands.
