There’s a new reason to get out and about these school holidays with Wyndham City’s Wyndham Explorer Scavenger Hunt.
Clues to win prizes can be found across 11 parks and reserves across Wyndham.
You can do one park or do them all, it’s free to play!
This free initiative is designed to help families stay active over summer and enjoy their local parks in a new way, perhaps finding a new reason to visit your local park or travelling further afield to explore one that you haven’t been to before.
There are 11 different parks to explore including: Hogans Road Reserve in Hoppers Crossing, Point Cook’s Coastal Park and Saltwater Coast Crocodile Park, Skeleton Creek (Autumn Fields Circuit) in Tarneit, Mainview Boulevard Park in Truganina, Heathdale Glen Orden Wetlands, Riverbend Historical Park, Riverwalk Village Park and Wyndham Park in Werribee, Werribee South Foreshore and Presidents Park in Wyndham Vale.
You can find the maps and clues on the Council website. So, get ready to walk, ride or scoot into your local park this summer.
For each park there are a series of questions to test your explorer skills.
Use the map location clues to help you find the answer to each question and submit your entry by 30 January 2021 to see how well you did! Answer correctly and you’ll also go into the draw to win one of 11 sports packs to help keep you exploring this summer!
Active City Portfolio Holder, Cr Peter Maynard, encouraged families to get involved in the local initiative.
“Now that restrictions have eased, Wyndham Explorer provides new reasons to visit our parks close by as well as head out to explore parks that you haven’t been to during the school holidays,” Cr Maynard said.
“During the pandemic our local parks and green spaces became even more important for physical and mental wellbeing. We rediscovered some old favorites and made new ones within our 5km zones.”
“The scavenger hunt is also a great way for families to be active together.”
