Wyndham City is excited to announce Anastasia Kusmawan as the One Wyndham December recipient.

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 and 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.

Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘young person of the month’.

Winners are awarded a $200 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.

December recipient, Anastasia Kusmawan demonstrates a commitment to sport and is a dedicated school leader.

Balancing school, work and a personal life, Anastasia spends 35 hours synchronised swimming training each week.

Competing competitively, Anastasia represented Australia at the Youth FINA World Championships last year.

As well as this, Anastasia is committed to her music and spends four hours practicing each week.

Anastasia has remained committed to her sport over lockdown, continuing to train each day online to retain fitness.

A leader in her school community, Anastasia commits her time to both sporting and academic pursuits and has achieved academic excellence.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Adele Hegedich, said the One Wyndham award enables young people to be inspired by the work of their peers.

“The time, dedication and passion of each young person has a positive impact not only on the people around them, but on Wyndham as a whole,” Cr Hegedich said.

“We celebrate the ways young people are engaging in Wyndham life be it through volunteering, advocacy or innovation.”

“We value their contribution in making Wyndham a thriving and supportive place.”

“Wyndham City Youth Services offer many ways to connect the City’s young people, whether it by via Check in and Chat, arts club, code club and or even our Youth Summer Program.”

“We’re committed to enhancing the youth experience in Wyndham.”
