New Integrated Family Centres, playgrounds, sporting fields and other sporting infrastructure are on the cards for two of Wyndham’s biggest growth areas.
Wyndham City has this week awarded the construction contract for the Truganina South East and Tarneit North Masterplans, two Wyndham City projects that will provide vital infrastructure for these growing suburbs.
Commercial Industrial Construction Group Pty Ltd was the successful bidder for the $26.2 million contract.
Wyndham City Mayor Adele Hegedich said on-site works at both sites would begin in January 2021.
“These projects will deliver sports fields, sports pavilions and family centres that will provide kindergarten, maternal child health and associated services for people moving to these growing areas,” Cr Hegedich said.
“This contract includes the full delivery of the Truganina South East Masterplan, and the family centre, playground and car park at Tarneit North.”
“The remainder of the Tarneit North Masterplan will be delivered at a later date.”
“We have been fortunate enough to receive a number of State Government grants for these two projects, including a $2.5 million Growing Suburbs Fund grant for stage one of the Tarneit North community precinct, a $3 million Growing Suburbs Fund grant towards the Truganina South East community precinct, and $1.6 million in Children’s Facilities Capital Program funding towards the Truganina South East Integrated Family Centre.”
Council’s City Design portfolio holder, Cr Josh Gilligan, added: “As our population grows at a rapid rate, it’s important that we work to build a liveable city where residents can access all the services they need close to home – and this project will deliver just that.”
