Construction has started on a new pump track at Hollylea Reserve, Leumeah, adding to the open space attractions within the precinct.
The $490,000 track will include a series of jumps, banked turns and transfer options for riders of BMX bikes, mountain bikes, skateboards and scooters with various difficulty loops available to suit people of all abilities.
“This new pump track will be a great addition to the recreational offerings across our city and supports the healthy lifestyle and physical pursuits of our residents,” Mayor George Brticevic said.
“Creating facilities which encourage people to get outdoors and enjoy physical exercise is a key priority for Council,” Cr Brticevic said.
The track will be built beside Leumeah Skate Park and was designed in consultation with the community and incorporating feedback from industry specialists.
Construction is expected to be complete by February 2021.
