Macedon Ranges Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from local agribusiness people to join the Macedon Ranges Agribusiness Forum.
The forum, which was established in 2014, discusses and addresses the challenges and opportunities facing the agricultural sector in the shire, and recognises and promotes the industry’s contribution to the local economy and community.
Director Planning and Environment, Angela Hughes said: “The forum is vital in helping Council to better understand the issues facing the local agribusiness community and what role Council can play in supporting these important businesses. This is especially the case as we seek to identify ways to recover from the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“Each member of the forum brings specific knowledge, skills and experience to the table, with connections across areas such as broad acre farming and livestock management, food production and value adding, farmers markets and land use planning among many more,” said Ms Hughes.
“We are looking for new members with relevant skills and experience in or links to the agricultural sector, who are keen to identify and take part in priority projects, represent a broader interest, engage with other interested stakeholders and share relevant industry information,” Ms Hughes said.
Expressions of interest (EOI) close 5pm on Friday 5 February 2020.
