Free school holiday fun

This summer Wyndham City will host a range of free online and outdoor workshops, classes and events for young people and their families to enjoy.

From park scavenger hunts to online art workshops, cookie decorating, outdoor boxing and a hip-hop dance workshop, there’s heaps to choose from!

Youth Services’ popular Holiday Action Program returns this summer online with candle making, cooking classes and yoga to enjoy at home.

Plus, due to popular demand, the Gamers Den will also continue to run online throughout the break.

There will also be a number of free outdoor classes to enjoy with boxing, skating, soccer skills and even a hip-hop workshop and plenty of opportunities to catch up with the Youth Services crew around your local neighbourhood.

Werribee Outdoor Swimming Pool will be buzzing with the return of Tunes at the Pool and keep an eye out in the new year for Youth Services’ free Moonlight Cinema series.

The Wyndham Explorer Scavenger Hunt will have you out and about exploring 11 of the region’s parks and reserves and for those hot summer days, there’s some great online programs, including a free workshop with the renowned Polyglot Theatre, collage workshop with illustrator Isobel Knowles and games workshop with comedian Sean Murphy.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Adele Hegedich, said local families can choose from a variety of free activities and create experiences together.

“The summer program is a great opportunity for kids to discover new hobbies and interests, socialise with their peers and get active!” Cr Hegedich said.

“Whether you’re staying in or heading out to explore there are a range of free activities for young people and their families to enjoy.”

Comedian Sean Murphy Tuesday 19 January 10am ‘Commonwealth of Games’ is an interactive online workshop for young people that sees acclaimed Australian comedian Sean Murphy share the world’s greatest playground games.
