Summer fun in Fremantle
City of Fremantle 16 Dec 2020

The summer school holidays are almost here and there’s a whole lotta fun on offer for families and kids of all ages in WA’s favourite seaside city.

Kids can explore stories of the Whadjuk people, WA’s oldest building, tales of longships and Vikings and Fremantle’s very own UNESCO World Heritage listed Fremantle Prison on the school holiday Time Travel Adventure Trail.

Pick up a trail map from Fremantle Visitor Centre and get ready to find hidden secrets at some of the city’s most historic places and attractions, including Manjaree, Fremantle Prison, the Round House and WA Maritime Museum.

Enter the draw for the chance to win a $500 voucher from Toyworld Fremantle, a $250 voucher from Timezone or a family pass to Fremantle Prison and a WA Maritime Museum Vikings prize pack, including tickets to the exhibition.

The Time Travel Adventure Trail runs from 10.30am-2.30pm daily from 7-20 January.

Trail maps are available from the Fremantle Visitor Centre and participating attractions from Monday 4 January.

The trail is absolutely free, and entry to each attraction is not required to complete it.

The dinosaurs are back in Fremantle from Saturday 26 December–Sunday 31 January at Dinoland at the Esplanade Reserve.

Dinoland is an adventure land of animatronic dinosaurs, giant backyard bugs, fossil digs, a life-size Triceratops skeleton, giant jigsaws, bouncy castles, baby dinos to touch, photo opportunities and a discovery zone.

Entry fees apply. Book your ticket online for the chance to win a prize.

The blockbuster exhibition, Vikings: Warriors of the North, Giants of the Sea is now open at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle.

There’s a range of activities for kids of all ages right through the school holidays.

Don’t miss your chance to learn about the true stories of conquest, plunder, craft, trade and adventure which turned these Nordic people into heroes of myth and legend. Tickets available at the door or online at museum.wa.gov.au/vikings.

Fremantle’s much-loved Spare Parts Puppet Theatre kicks off the 2021 public season with a new show, Beanstalk written by Sam Longley.

Original puppetry and humorous story telling makes this work delightful, accessible and engaging for young audiences. Tickets are available from www.sppt.asn.au.
