Isaac Regional Council’s water meter readers will begin water meter readings at properties across the Isaac region to measure the water consumption for upcoming water notices.
To help ensure the charges are accurate, efficient and reliable, the manual water meter read project will take place across Isaac between:
Thursday, 17 December 2020 to Thursday, 14 January 2021 6am to 6pm Excluding public holidays and weekends
This is in preparation for water notices to be issued for the period of July 2020 to December 2020.
This notice is expected to be sent to ratepayers in February 2021.
All meter-reading contractors will carry official Council identification. Authorisation to undertake the water meter reads is under Section 37 of the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008.
As part of Council’s response to COVID-19 and in the interests of public safety, residents are requested not to approach meter readers while they are attending their premises.
Council has a duty of care to the community to make sure our people, our customers and the community are safe.
Council encourages the use of MiWater, a website where residents can sign up to receive water consumption information. Residents can set email and SMS alerts and be notified of water leaks and high consumption within days of occurrence, see isaac.qld.gov.au/miwater for more details.
