Locals are advised that there will be disruption to traffic in a small section of Iodide Street in the new year.
Council will be reconstructing Iodide Street between Morgan and Union Streets, and also reconstructing the Morgan/Iodide intersection.
The work will begin on January 11 and is expected take approximately 8-10 weeks, weather permitting.
There will be no access to sections of the road at various stages of the project, however provisions will be made so residents can still access their property.
Group Manager Infrastructure and Projects, Codie Howard, said Council would do its best to minimise interruption to traffic.
"The road and parts of the kerb and gutter are showing significant damage along this stretch of Iodide Street," said Mr Howard.
"We'll prioritise the Morgan and Iodide intersection area first to try and limit the inconvenience for families when school returns.
"We'd just ask that motorists be patient and obey any signage or traffic directions in place throughout the work."
