Council adopts 2019-20 Annual Report

Posted on December 17, 2020

Central Highlands Regional Council adopted its annual report this week—a document revealing a year of change and adaptation.

‘I like to think of the report as a window into our place of work,’ Mayor Kerry Hayes explained.

‘And this year the view through that window showed an organisation resilient and innovative as it coped with a region lacking in water; a world living with a COVID-19 pandemic; and a change in leadership.

‘Anyone that has a question to ask about what council does, why it does it, and how it works, need only go to the annual report for a full account,’ the mayor said.

‘The report is 175 pages of, not only facts and figures, but the stories behind what we’ve achieved for the community during the year, what the challenges were, how we overcame those challenges and what we expect of the coming year.

‘We really value the annual report because it condenses all of our services and projects into one easy-to-read volume that provides a historical account of the organisation. And it’s also useful for prospective employees, investors and anyone with an interest in the Central Highlands community.

‘There are comprehensive financial statements and a brief, plain English community financial report that gives a general overview of council’s financial management,’ the mayor said.
