Locals will be treated to a huge fireworks display to ring in the New Year, with five shows planned for New Year’s Eve.
There will be separate fireworks displays launched from locations in the city's North, West, Central and South at 9.15pm, with a fifth show to launch at midnight atop the Line of Lode.
Mayor Darriea Turley AM said the annual fireworks display had been expanded to offset the loss of the public New Year’s Party staged by Council each year.
"With large public gatherings off the table due to COVID-19 restrictions, we had to look at alternatives," said Mayor Turley.
"If everyone can't come to one location to see the fireworks, then we have to bring the shows to the people, which is what we've tried to do.
"We'll hold a display in each of the city's traditional zones, and hopefully that will give most people a chance to enjoy the show and celebrate New Year with some colour and excitement."
However Mayor Turley urged everyone to look after their pets during the fireworks displays.
"Kids and families love watching the fireworks, but they can scare some animals, so please ensure all your pets are safe and secure at 9.15pm and at midnight.
"We hope everyone enjoys the shows and has a great New Year!"
