So the summer holidays are nearly upon us and I bet we’re all looking forward to being able to spend time with family and friends just relaxing after a very challenging year.
I was so glad to hear about the borders reopening as people have had to endure so much time separated from their loved ones and – finally – we can all be together.
My heart goes out to anyone who has family still stuck overseas because of the pandemic and I hope they have good news soon.
While we’re all out and about enjoying the holidays – and what’s not to like about living here – please don’t let your guard down and still stick to the COVIDSafe rules.
Above all – enjoy it, you deserve it.
And if you do have people visiting, why not treat them to some of the many indoor, outdoor, fun-filled and educational attractions we have on the Coffs Coast.
All of them have some amazing and fascinating exhibitions on show.
The Museum would be a great place to take visitors who are new to the area. There’s a fascinating show on currently called ‘Bananas to Beautizone’. It features quirky postcards, signs, fashion, photos and all things bananas that will entertain or spark memories. Meanwhile in the Maritime room, visitors can explore living as a lighthouse keeper on South Solitary Island, historic happenings at the jetty and past shipwrecks from the coast.
The good news is that the Museum is now open for longer hours for the summer. Locals and visitors will be able to visit Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm, with loads of exhibits about the people, places and events that shaped the Coffs Harbour region.
Whatever you do, have a wonderful Christmas and summer.
