Shire of Ashburton community members and visitors to our region are advised that anyone who has arrived from NSW between 11-17 December must self-quarantine and present for a COVID-19 test before midnight 19 December. They must return to self-quarantine until a negative test result is confirmed. They will also be required to undertake a further test on Day 11 after arrival in WA.
A mandatory self quarantine is applicable to anyone who has arrived from NSW on or after Friday 18 December.
Testing is available at COVID clinics, regional public hospitals and health services and remote health clinics (where COVID clinics are not available). If you have arrived from NSW between 11-17 December, you may attend particular private pathology centres to be tested. No pathology request form is required and testing will be free of charge on 18-Dec and 19-Dec.
Testing clinics have been set up in Karratha and Port Hedland this weekend and anyone who suspects that they have been in close contact with COVID-19 or who have travelled across from NSW are urged to be tested. Opening hours have been extended at testing clinics across the State. For a full list of testing sites, please visit healthywa.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/COVID-clinics
This is a timely reminder that if you feel unwell and/or have flu-like symptoms, you should stay home.
We also need to continue to practise healthy hygiene habits such as washing our hands, sneezing and coughing into elbows and maintaining social distancing at group and community occasions.
Travellers from other states should download the G2G Now app prior to arriving in WA to allow for digital quarantine checks in the event of further outbreaks
Everyone is also encouraged to download the SafeWA app that allows people to easily check-in at businesses and venues where contact registration is required.
