Following approval at Council’s November Ordinary Meeting to proceed with the Adaminaby Sewage Treatment upgrade, the Water Wastewater Team held a community meeting in town on 1 December 2020 to discuss the proposed design and construction.

Council’s Manager Water Wastewater Operations, Jessica Dunstan and Water Consultant, Greg Searle opened the meeting and presented to attendees the plans to construct the new plant over the old plant, along with the installation of new screening from the highway.

Mayor Peter Beer said, “While the treatment plan has been on Council’s radar for some time, the population growth in the area has made this more urgent.

“Feedback from the community meeting was that residents are generally happy with the proposed plans and I’m pleased that we have finally been able to give this project the green light.”

Tenders for the construction will open this month, with the contract anticipated to be awarded in February 2021 and construction to commence in March 2021.

If members of the community have any questions or concerns they may contact: Jessica Dunstan, Manager Water Wastewater Operations on 1300 345 345.
