MEDIA RELEASE Working together towards a positive future for Campbell Town Swimming PoolFollowing a positive meeting yesterday with representatives of the Campbell Town Swimming Pool Committee, Council is confident a mutually beneficial solution to issues regarding the pool’s changeroom facilities will be found in the coming days.
Mayor Mary Knowles OAM said several solutions had been proposed to resolve issues raised by the Pool Committee regarding the safety of pool patrons – particularly children – using changeroom facilities inside the Campbell Town Recreation Ground Complex.
“Council has heard the concerns of the community and is committed to proactively working with the Committee to find a mutually beneficial solution,” Mayor Knowles said.
“After a collaborative meeting with the Pool Committee, we have identified a number of potential solutions which are currently being further investigated by Council Officers.”
“The safety of our community and young people is of utmost importance and Council will ensure a suitable compromise is found to allow the Committee to sign a lease and once again operate the pool during the summer season.”
“We are looking forward to working with council on the proposed solutions so that we can have a successful 2020/2021 swim season,” a Campbell Town Pool Committee representative said.
