Baw Baw Shire Council’s landslip repairs on local roads are continuing to progress and are on-track for completion in the new year.
High rainfall from 7 to 9 October triggered landslips along five roads, resulting in partial road closures and detours for residents.
Sunny Creek Road, Trafalgar South Warragul-Leongatha Road, Seaview Yarragon-Leongatha Road, Allambee Ferndale-Strzelecki Road, Ferndale Allambee Estate Road, AllambeeWorks to repair Ferndale-Strzelecki Road in Ferndale were completed by late November, followed by Sunny Creek Road in Trafalgar South that was asphalted and fully reopened yesterday.
Work is expected to begin from the second week of January along Warragul-Leongatha Road, Allambee Estate Road and Yarragon-Leongatha Road, weather permitting.
The remaining roads will stay open during the works, although some delays and single lane operation can be expected. Drivers are encouraged to approach the sites with caution and take note of any traffic control in place, especially on Warragul-Leongatha Road near Grand Ridge Road where a single lane will operate under traffic signal control until mid-January.
Council is continuing to carefully monitor each site and will keep the community informed as works progress.
