If you are experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), you should get tested.

Update: New COVID restrictions from 5pm NYE Testing: Where to get tested

If you have any of the symptoms, however mild, you should seek advice and get tested. To get further advice, call the 24-hour hotline 1800 675 398, your general practitioner or use the online self-assessment tool.

The symptoms to watch out for are:

Fever Chills Cough Sore throat Shortness of breath Runny nose Loss of sense of smell.

Diagnosing possible cases of COVID-19 early, even when symptoms are mild, helps health experts control the spread of the virus. By getting tested when you have symptoms you will be doing your bit to protect all Victorians.

Expanded testing across the community will also help Victoria to better understand how the virus is spreading in the community.

Where to get tested

The closest test site in Bayside is at Sandringham Hospital.

For a list of testing sites visit the DHHS website.

The testing is free at the mobile testing stations, hospitals and bulk billed clinics.

The Call-to-Test service enables our most vulnerable to get tested for COVID-19 (coronavirus) at home with a qualified health clinician. The service provides access for people who cannot leave home due to injury, mobility or other eligible reasons.

For more information about the Call-to-Test service visit the DHHS website.
