BMCC supporting the community during COVID-19: Emergency Face Masks

Blue Mountains City Council is providing reusable face masks to those in vulnerable and at risk groups in the community.

Council is again partnering with the Rapid Relief Team, who helped with the rollout of the Emergency Food boxes in mid-2020 as part of the Good Neighbour program. 

Blue Mountains City Council CEO Rosemary Dillion said, “The masks we have available are reusable for up to 50 washes and aligns with Council’s focus on sustainability in all we do. Wearing a mask will help in continuing to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community and staff and a reusable one has a lower impact on planetary health”.

Mayor Mark Greenhill said, “We are proud to be able to provide a reusable face mask to those who are most at need in our community during the COVID-19 pandemic”.

The face masks will be available and delivered to the doors of households that meet the criteria of the program. 

All requests are being assessed on a case-by-case basis and are being prioritised based on those in greatest need.
