Yay, its almost Australia Day!

There is nothing more Australian than to celebrate Australia Day and we have a stack of COVID-safe events planned this year.

First up, the Australia Day Awards on Thursday 21 January celebrate and recognise the outstanding contributions of residents and events. This event is invitation only to comply with current Health Orders.

Other events in the line-up include:

World Food Markets Australia Day edition – 5-9pm, Beverley Job Park, Narraweena

Celebrate the diversity of Australia with food trucks offering a selection of international food and live music under the stars.

Australia Day Food Truck Party - 4-9pm, Forestville War Memorial Playing Fields, Forestville

Throw down your picnic rug, grab a bite to eat from one of the many food trucks and enjoy listening to Aussie rock tunes from our resident DJ. There’s also a best dressed competition.

Australia Day Australian Made Market - 8am-1pm, James Meehan Reserve, Dee Why

Don't miss this summer market showcasing locally Australian-made goods.

Australia Day Open Air Cinema – Gates open 5.30pm, Brookvale Oval

Join us for a screening of the classic Australian movie, The Dish. Tickets must be pre-purchased for $5* and include popcorn on arrival. *Plus booking fee

Australia Day Dee Why Outdoor Dining Expansion - The Strand, Dee Why

To support our local businesses, The Strand will be transformed into an outdoor dining and entertainment paradise from midday Monday through Australia Day.

Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony

The official ceremony will be held at Glen Street Theatre. This is invitation only event to comply with current Health Orders.

Australia Day Pool Parties - 9am-12pm, Warringah Aquatic Centre and Manly Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Aquatic Centre.

What’s more Australian than a pool party? Featuring large pool inflatables and entertainment for the whole family.

There will be several performers playing Aussie favourites and Australian themed characters across various town centres. 

Australia Day Ambassador

Council is also delighted to welcome the 2021 Australia Day Ambassador to the Beaches - dual Winter Olympian, Hannah Campbell-Pegg.

Ms Campbell-Pegg represented Australia in the Women’s Single Luge at the Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games and Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games and she will be visiting some of our event sites on Australia Day.
