Summer Expression Sessions for Local Youth

Coffs Harbour City Council and NSW Government have partnered to deliver Summer Expression Sessions. Kicking off at Brelsford Park on Saturday the 30th of January.

Youth between the ages of 12-24 are invited to skate, paint and strum sessions from 10am at Brelsford Park on January 30th, followed by a free screening of Chasing Mavericks at Cavanbah Hall. Nana Glen Hall will host the final set of workshops on Sunday the 31st January, from 10am-2pm.

The 3 events will give young people an opportunity to get creative and active in collaboration with unique local business’. Chalkies: Coffs Coast Skateboard School will be teaching tricks at the Park, topped off with free food organised by Groundworks Youth Centre.

Mullaway Creative Co.’s Jimmy Wags and Tulli Stevens will be facilitating art workshops along with Uko Ono who will be giving Ukulele lessons, at both Brelsford Park and Nana Glen.

“After the challenges and impacts of bushfires and COVID-19, we’re keen to kick off 2021 by offering local young people a chance to focus on something creative and uplifting as well as make new connections and learn new skills,“ said Madeleine Lawler, Council’s Section Leader of Community Planning and Engagement.
