Applications are now open for Cardinia Shire Council’s 2021-22 Festival and Event Grant Program and Community Wellbeing and Support Grant Program.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Brett Owen said Council contributes approximately $350,000 annually to help community groups and networks support the development of healthy, active and socially connected communities.
“Not-for-profit organisations deliver great services and provide excellent events within our community and we want to ensure they can continue to do their great work in line with COVID-19 restrictions.
“I encourage eligible local not-for-profit organisations to apply for these grant programs,” Cr Owen said.
Festival and Events grants are available to not-for-profit, community-run festival and event organisers, as well as RSL clubs. Grants are given to contribute to the cost of running local events which reflect local identity and interests.
Types of events supported through this program include community festivals and events, art festivals and events, cultural festivals and events, as well as agricultural shows and major events.
The Community Wellbeing and Support Grants Program helps to establish new organisations, projects and services. It also funds initiatives that improve residents' health and wellbeing, support opportunities for volunteering, as well as those which help to build the capacity of community groups, projects and programs to be sustainable.
