Infrastructure projects fast tracked

Council will fast track 14 projects worth more than $5.6 million as part of a Commonwealth Government funding program designed to stimulate additional infrastructure construction.

The projects include a $1.5 million upgrade to upgrade intersections at Rabaul and Periwinkle streets in Trinity Beach, more than $1.36 million of improvements to Tanks 3, 4 and 5 at the Tanks Art Centre, and construction of the Givens St pedestrian bridge over the Dillon St drain in Westcourt ($350,000).

Council received $5,606,619 in grant funding under Phase 2 of the Commonwealth Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Grant (LRCI) program for the following projects:
