Art to be displayed in ChamberTwo artworks by Tasmanian Aboriginal artists will be displayed in the Hobart Town Hall Council Chamber.
The addition of the artworks are in line with the City of Hobart’s commitment to recognising Tasmania’s long history of Aboriginal custodianship and raising the visibility of Aboriginal people and culture in Hobart.
The City’s Community Vision statement will also be displayed prominently as a reminder of the values of the City and its residents.
In the first update to the Council Chamber in more than 30 years, the additional pieces will be displayed alongside an updated portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the wall behind the Lord Mayor’s chair in the Chamber.
