Are you the parent or guardian of a young driver? Would you like some handy tips on how to help your young adult plan the best on-road experience? Would you like to take the stress out of supervising your Learner Driver?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, Yass Valley Council can help with a free information session at Yass Soldiers Club on Thursday, 25 February from 6-8.30pm.
A panel of experts will attend on the evening to impart information and experience with parents and their novice drivers. Yass Valley resident Samantha Longmore, who survived a horrifying car crash in 2013 after she fell asleep at the wheel while driving on the Barton Highway, will be sharing her story with the Learner drivers so they can understand the importance of safe driving
“Younger drivers face many challenges when learning the complex task of driving a vehicle. Getting your license is a major milestone in life, so supervising drivers need to make sure they are providing accurate information to their Leaner driver,” said Council’s Road Safety Officer, Meryl Hinge.
“Keeping people safe on our roads starts with developing good road safety habits at the Learner driver stage. This free information session will give the ‘teachers’ updated road rules and some great supervision tips and safety information.”
RSVP is essential as refreshments and pizza will be provided.
